J. Frederick Chairsell, DDS

J. Frederick Chairsell, DDS | Oral Surgeon - Lancaster, PA

Dr. Chairsell is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has been in private practice with Conestoga Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 1974. He grew up in the Washington, DC area and received his BS degree in 1965 from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Dr. Chairsell completed Dental School at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA in 1969 earning a DDS degree. He was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary society. He did his oral and maxillofacial surgery training from 1969 to 1972 at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. After completing his residency, he served as a Major in the US Army as a staff Oral Surgeon at Walson Army Hospital, Fort Dix, NJ.

Always concerned with contributing to the local community, Dr. Chairsell has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Lancaster County, The American Cancer Society and the Schreiber Pediatric Clinic. Dr. Chairsell is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southeast Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Lancaster County Dental Society, the Chalmers Lyons Society, and various other professional associations. He serves as Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Lancaster Regional Medical Center and is on the staff at Lancaster General Hospital.

Dr. Chairsell lives in Lancaster with his wife, Theodora M. Chairsell. They are the parents of a daughter who resides in Lancaster with her husband and two children. Dr. Chairsell enjoys playing golf, scuba diving and traveling, as well as spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren)! He is also an avid Washington Redskins fan!
