Dr. Andrew Heise was raised in Erie, PA. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Heise completed a seven-year dual degree residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. This residency involved advanced standing in MCV's medical school earning him his medical degree upon completion. A General Surgery internship and four years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery completed this education. Dr. Heise then completed a twelve-month fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital and then completed a second 12 month fellowship focusing on cosmetic surgery in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Heise is a Board Certified Surgeon and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heise is trained in all aspects of his surgical specialty, which includes removal of impacted teeth, placement of dental implants, reconstructive bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma management, TMJ surgery, and delivery of in-office IV sedation and general anesthesia.
Dr. Heise has been involved in the medical and dental community since arriving in Lancaster following his training. He has maintained hospital privileges at Lancaster General Hospital and Lancaster Regional Medical Center where he actively participates in ER call. He has served on numerous boards at Lancaster General Hospital to include the Executive Board, Chairman of the Department of Dentistry, and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heise continues to be an active member of the Lancaster County Dental Society.
Dr. Heise moved to Lancaster in 1997 to join Conestoga Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He and his wife Leesa have six children: Andy, Peter, Emily, Harrison, Christian, and Sarah. Dr. Heise and Leesa are active members of the Lancaster community having raised and educated their children within the county. He and his family are active parishioners of St. John Neumann Church. They have served on many committees both at St. Anne's School and Lancaster Catholic High School. They enjoy Lancaster County and all that it offers and gain deep satisfaction in being involved and giving back to their community.
