Insurance & Payment FAQs
We know navigating insurance and payments can be confusing, so we’ve put together answers to the most common questions. From forms of payment and copays to out-of-network coverage and understanding which plan applies to your procedure, our team is here to guide you. If you need personalized help, our billing coordinators are just a phone call away.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the following forms of payment: credit cards (Visa, Discover, Mastercard, and American Express), CareCredit, cash, or check. Payment is due at the time of service.
Please note that if you are paying by check or credit card, you will need to show a valid form of ID and provide your Social Security number to use these payment methods.
Can I still come to your office if my insurance is out of network?
Yes, we are happy to bill out-of-network insurance plans on your behalf. You will be responsible for payment in full at the time of service, and our billing department will handle the processing of your claim. Please forward any Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or predetermination statements to us. If you request that we submit a predetermination before treatment, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have received confirmation from your insurance plan and understand your financial responsibility before proceeding with treatment.
How much is my copay or deductible?
We recommend contacting your insurer beforehand to confirm the details of your coverage. Ultimately, it is the patient's responsibility to understand their insurance coverage and benefits; however, as a courtesy, we will verify your insurance benefits based on the information you provide about your insurance plan. At the time of service, you will be responsible for any fees that are not covered by your insurance, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, or any non-covered services.
How do I know which plan (medical or dental) will cover oral surgery?
Coverage depends on the specific treatment, diagnosis codes, and your insurance plan benefits. Most extractions are considered dental, while coverage for wisdom teeth may vary based on your plan and the complexity of the surgery. A predetermination may be submitted to your insurance to verify coverage for a specific treatment.
Can you help me understand my insurance policy and benefits?
While it is ultimately your responsibility to understand your insurance, our billing department is here to assist you. Please call 717-394-3033 to speak with a billing coordinator about your coverage.
